A Greek suezmax tanker has carried out the first-ever delivery of Nigerian Nembe crude within Africa.

Analytics company Kpler said the voyage involving Centrofin’s 157,000-dwt suezmax Popi P (built 2023) was a “significant move”, given that most barrels from Nembe have previously been sent to European refineries.

The tanker offloaded the cargo at South Africa’s Saldanha storage facility.
