Wallenius Wilhelmsen is in newbuilding talks that sources indicate could involve a series of up to eight giant LNG dual-fuel 9,000-ceu pure car carriers in China worth up to $800m.
The company is understood to be in close negotiations with Yantai CIMC Raffles Shipyard for an initial four PCCs and a number of other shipyards.
The negotiations are understood to involve options for a further four ships, with delivery scheduled to run from 2024 onwards.
