India's Cochin Shipyard (CSL) has signed a deal with Russian yard holding company United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) to cooperate on newbuildings.

The two state-controlled shipbuilders will team up on the design and development of river-sea cargoships, ferries and dredgers for coastal and inland operations.

The agreement was signed in Delhi by CSL managing director Madhu Nair and Alexey Rakhmanov, president of USC, CSL said, according to PortNews.
