Fincantieri has received a boost in its efforts to take over STX France having secured preferred bidder status from a South Korean court.
Reuters reports that the Italian shipbuilder was given the court’s backing today for a deal that would strengthen the company’s position in the cruise market.
Fincantieri emerged as the sole bidder for STX France over Christmas, prompting suggestions the French government could nationalise the yard.
