POSCO, South Korea’s largest steel manufacturer, has rejected a plea by the Korea Offshore & Shipbuilding Association (KOSHIPA) to keep prices of steel plates at current levels so that the country’s shipbuilders can maintain their competitiveness in the global shipbuilding markets.
Responding to KOSHIPA’s request made on Monday, a POSCO official told South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency that agreeing to such a request was highly unlikely.
