India's shipping minister has promised unions the state will not abandon newly-listed Cochin Shipyard.
Nitin Gadkari said the yard, which carried out a $229m IPO this year, will not be privatised as it makes a "good" profit.
"There is feeling in the minds of the labour unions that we are going to privatise the shipyard," he added, according to the Manorama website.
