SBIC heading for $120m-plus loss in 2018

State-run Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (SBIC) has said its holding company may make a pre-tax loss of more than VND 2.8 trillion ($120m) in 2018.

It had first-half revenue of VND 249bn, below the VND 740bn earned a year ago. This met only 10.5% of the full-year target, Vietnam Net reported.

Of the 2018 figure, financial operations accounted for more than VND 242bn, while earnings from business and service activities were only VND 6bn.
