Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is set to conclude an order for two ro-ro ferry newbuildings from local Japanese ferry consortium SHK Line Group.
The ships will go into service on a new route planned by the group from 2021. The new route will run between Yokosuka in Kanagawa prefecture to the Japanese island of Kyushu.
The vessels will be 16,000 gt with capacity to carry 170 trucks and vehicles.
