The Greek government is undertaking a new attempt to privatise defunct Hellenic Shipyards, hoping to revive the country’s biggest and most historic shipbuilding facility.
Interested investors have until 27 November to submit binding bids for the yard.
Assets up for sale include a 350,000-square-metre plot to the west of Athens that has buildings, ship-lifting equipment and two graving docks, one of which is said to be among the biggest in the Eastern Mediterranean, with capacity to handle ships of up to 400,000 dwt.
