Socatra of France is boosting its presence on the MR tanker segment with an order for newbuildings in South Korea.
The shipowner has placed an order up to four 50,000-dwt product tanker newbuildings at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) worth up to $146m.
TradeWinds previously reported that HMD announced that an unnamed European shipowner ordered two firm MR tankers plus options for an additional pair of ships.
