Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri has revealed a record orderbook of EUR 33.8bn ($38.4bn) as profit rose in 2018.

The cruiseship specialist said net earnings were up at EUR 69m from EUR 53m in 2017.

Revenue was also at a record level, rising 9% to EUR 5.5bn.

Net debt stood at EUR 494m.

CEO Giuseppe Bono said: “The results we have presented prove once again that our company is a leader, a landmark in the worldwide shipbuilding industry, a network of excellences that share knowledge and resources in many fields.
