The European Union has said it has suspended its investigation into Fincantieri’s takeover bid for France’s Chantiers de l’Atlantique.
The European Commission’s website showed that it halted the probe on 13 March 2020. It has been scheduled to rule on the case by 17 April.
“This procedure in merger investigations is activated if the parties fail to provide, in a timely fashion, important information that the commission has requested from them,” EC spokeswoman Arianna Podesta told Reuters.
