Technical problems have severely reduced tanker loadings at the key Russian oil port of Ust-Luga this month.
Traders told Reuters that shipments are set to fall by half in January, partly due to issues with Transneft’s pipeline system.
Scheduled loadings for this month total only 350,000 barrels per day at the Baltic Sea outlet, a four-year low.
