South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering said on Wednesday it has secured six 174,000-cbm LNG carrier newbuildings from two shipping outfits.
The Okpo-based shipyard did not name the companies, indicating only that they were incorporated in North America.
The total value of the vessels is $1.25bn.
Shipbuilding sources following DSME’s newbuilding activities believe Greek shipowner GasLog is behind four vessels and BW LNG two.
