Belgian shipowner DEME has picked Dutch yard Royal IHC for its latest dredger order.
The shipbuilder said the deal involves a sistership to the recently delivered 8,400-cbm trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) Scheldt River, plus another 2,300-cbm TSHD and two 3,500-cbm split barges.
The compact design of the 2,300-cbm TSHD is characterised by a small draught, allowing it to be deployed for projects in shallow water worldwide, IHC added.
