Besiktas Shipyard has inaugurated a new office in Athens.
It is the group’s first branch outside of its Turkish home base, highlighting the weighty role Greek shipowners have come to play in its business of ship repairs and environmental equipment installations.
Companies from Greece represent more than a fifth of Besiktas group’s total business book, chief executive Yavuz Kalkavan told TradeWinds during a cocktail reception in Besiktas's Athens premises to mark the opening.
