Broking sources report that the 37,200-dwt Emerald Star and Scarlet Star (both built 2005) have gone to Tsakos' private company for $16m each.
Both vessels were built at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard and are two of the newest ships in Andromeda's fleet.
Attempts to reach an executive at Tsakos for comment on the deal were unsuccessful at the time of writing.
Tsakos owns a mixed fleet of 26 ships on the water, which are worth a collective $881.9m
