Sovcomflot says it is in talks with a Daewoo joint venture over an order for “the greenest aframaxes ever built” but denies it is anywhere near ordering a dozen units.
The Russian tanker giant does not even plan on spending half of the $800m put on the mooted 12-ship order by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) in an announcement Sovcomflot said was made “maybe a bit too fast”.
