An Athens-based sale-and-purchase broker claims the Cypress Maritime affiliate paid $30m to pick up the 106,500-dwt sisters British Laurel (built 2002) andBritish Hawthorn (built 2003) en bloc in an off-market deal but notes the transaction hasn’t been confirmed publicly.

The VesselsValue.com database believes the duo to be worth upwards of $32m in today’s market while a prominent US tanker broker says similar ten-year-old aframaxes might fetch as much as $34m or slightly less depending on origin and other variables.
