The company has ordered the 5,000-ton cable-loading-capacity vessel from Samsung Heavy Industries, but no price has been revealed.
Delivery is set for the second half of 2012.
Boskalis has a EUR 20m ($28.06m) contract lined up to lay two power cables between the Indonesian islands of Java and Bali.
