The Indian Government has outlined a series of conditions for crew exchange while the country operates under lockdown to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
The Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) in Mumbai has released a new standard operating protocol covering the sign-on and sign-off procedures for Indian seafarers at Indian ports.
The move will comes as some relief to shipmanagers whose Indian seafarers were effectively barred from returning home while one of shipping’s largest labour supply countries closed its borders.
