The 4,400-dwt Dalarna (built 1996) lost its deck cargo and Swedish media report that this could be dangerous since the wood could end up in the Aland archipelago.
The incident happened off the southeast coast of Sweden, near Bjorn, where strong winds are currently blowing.
Dalarna was en route from Latvia’s Mersrags to Iggesund of Sweden.
It is owned by Germany-headquartered Tom Worden Schiffs, part of Navalis Shipping.
