Six people are missing after a ship collided with fishing vessel off Malaysia early on Thursday morning.

Eleven fishermen were rescued when their boat capsized following the pre-dawn incident in the Malacca Strait.

The search continues, however, for the six other fishermen, five of whom are believed to be from Malaysia.

The identity of the cargoship concerned has not been revealed but it is reported to have continued sailing following the smash 10 miles off Sabak Bernam, northwest of Selangor state at around 05:00 local time.
