The Puerto Rico Fire Department has successfully extinguished the flames on a ropax that caught fire and grounded off the island's coast.
Baja Ferries' 950-passenger Caribbean Fantasy (built 1989) is now safely moored in San Juan Harbor, the US Coast Guard says.
The fire started in the engineroom Wednesday, and then the vessel ran aground just off Punta Salinas. As TradeWinds has reported, 512 passengers and crew were evacuated from the vessel without injury.
