A Red Sea Navigation ship has emerged as the Egyptian vessel which was hijacked in the Gulf of Aden on Wednesday.



The 13,130-dwt multi-purpose vessel Al Mansourah has now been taken to the port of Allula at the very tip of the Horn of Africa and in Somalia’s semi-autonomous region of Puntland.

Mohamed Soph, technical managing director at Red Sea, told TradeWinds on Friday that the Panama-flagged ship was seized by heavily armed attackers around 09:00 on Wednesday 13 miles off the Yemeni port of Al Mukalla.
