A Carnival cruiseship was involved in a medical emergency off the US at the weekend after an elderly passenger had to be rescued.
The unidentified 74-year-old had to be airlifted from the 1,848-berth Oosterdam (built 2003) off the coast of San Diego after developing suspected pancreatitis.
The US Coast Guard (USCG) was informed on Sunday that the passenger was ill and needed to be evacuated.
