Japan's Princess Ayako has lost her royal status after marrying an NYK Line employee on Monday.
The youngest daughter of Emperor Akihito’s late cousin tied the knot with Kei Moriya, 32, at Meiji Shrine in Tokyo, the Japan Times reported.
“I’m very happy that many people were able to celebrate,” the princess told reporters following the ceremony.
