The US Port of Long Beach has seen a second consecutive month of declines in container volumes.
Throughput at the West Coast port was down 15.2% on a year ago to 388,589-teu from the 458,336-teu seen a year ago.
But the port said the drop in imports in February was partly attributable to the early Chinese Lunar New Year holidays.
“Import volumes typically fall following the New Year as factories in Asia close for a week or more during the holidays,” Long Beach said.
