Panamax bulkers controlled by Greece’s Adelfia Shipping Enterprises and Grand Bulk Shipping of Hong Kong were among the nine ships detained by US port inspectors in February.
The US Coast Guard (USCG) says the 76,400-dwt Agios Nikolas (built 2004) was held in New Orleans, Louisiana over a fuel shutoff valve that was blocked open with a wooden plug, a violation of fire prevention protocol.
