Almost 200 jobs are to go at STX Europe’s Finnish yards with more lay-offs likely.
A total of 180 jobs are being cut at the shipbuilding giant’s Turku facility, Juha Heikinheimo, president and chief executive of STX Finland Oy said.
These job losses are comprised of redundancies and some employees taking pensions, media reports in Finland indicate.
Negotiations are continuing on the situation at the yard group’s other Finnish facility in Rauma with more job losses likely.
