Former International Maritime Organization secretary general Kitack Lim expects a “positive outcome” from the upcoming 83rd Marine Environment Protection Committee meeting.
MEPC 83, set to take place from 7 to 11 April, has stakeholders awaiting an IMO consensus on mid-term measures to cut greenhouse gas emissions from vessels.
The IMO aims to reach net zero by 2050.
