The International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) has shaken up its leadership selection process and organisational structure to achieve more effective and consistent decision-making.
The position of IACS Council chair will now be decided by a vote and the position will run for two years, with the possibility of its being extended.
Until now, the position has been held for one year and shared equally between classification societies on a rotating basis.
