Navig8 jumps into offshore with takeover

Navig8 Group has moved into the offshore sector with the purchase of RKOffshore Management (RKOM).

Navig8 chief executive Nicolas Busch, who raised the prospect of an expansion into offshore in January, says the group has taken advantage of a unique opportunity.

RKOffshore Management, founded by Robert Knutzen, has a fleet of 19 platform supply vessels and anchor handlers under management.

Busch said in a statement: "We believe current dynamics within the energy exploration and production industry have created a unique opportunity for Navig8 to extend its commercial and technical services to the offshore energy sector while at the same time expand our geographical footprint to West Africa."
