Denmark’s giant AP Moller-Maersk group is making its first investment in the growing offshore wind farm ship sector.
Subsidiary Maersk Supply Service (MSS), better known for anchor-handling tug supply (AHTS) operations, is to build what it calls a “pioneering” installation vessel for Norwegian and UK energy majors Equinor and BP to operate in the US market.
The company said it has been working on the concept since 2019.
