Italian energy giant Eni has been forced to shutdown production on the Goliat FPSO in the Barents Sea over safety concerns.
Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) had earlier issued an order to Eni Norge AS as operator to minimise the ignition threat posed by possible faulty ex-motors.
“Until the order has been complied with to the PSA’s satisfaction, all production from the Goliat FPSO unit must remain shut down,” the PSA said.
