Offshore wind construction vessel owner Edda Wind has fixed its last open ship for work on what could be the world’s largest offshore wind farm.
The Oslo-listed, Haugesund-based company announced on Wednesday that the 88-loa commissioning service operation vessel Edda Boreas (built 2023) will work on the Dogger Bank Wind Farm roughly 200km off the east coast of Yorkshire.
Upon its planned completion in 2026, the SSE Renewables-Equinor-Vargronn joint venture is expected to be the biggest wind farm on Earth and provide power to as many as 6m homes annually.
