Freeport McMoran has entered into an inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) deal with the Norwegian offshore owner.
Besides the first six months, the US company has the option to extend the deal for up to a year.
Dof will deploy the 4,578-dwt Jones Act offshore vessel Harvey Deep Sea (built 2013).
It said the operations will commence immediately but it did not disclose the price of the deal.
