A blaze which ripped through the engine room of a Vroon-owned vessel off the UK on Thursday has been contained.
The fire onboard the 1,480-hp standby/rescue VOS Vedette initially crippled the ship 20 miles offshore Scotland.
A report from the UK’s Maritime & Coastguard Agency indicated that crew had flooded the engine room with CO2 in an effort to stop the blaze.
