Finnish icebreaker owner Arctia has reported lower earnings in a mild winter last year.

Net earnings in 2016 were EUR 9.1m ($9.7m), down from EUR 14.6m the year before.

Arctia’s revenue in 2016 amounted to EUR 60.7m, from EUR 64.4m, while operating profit stood at EUR 12.9m, against EUR 18.1m.

It said this was "a good level," however.

"The ice winter of 2015–2016 was very mild as was the previous winter, but the icebreakers were kept busy especially in the challenging conditions of the Bay of Bothnia," it added.
