Beijing-based China Minsheng Trust has tucked away a quick profit after selling a quartet of bulker newbuildings to Yasa Shipping just three months after exercising options to order them.
The Chinese financial firm has sold the 85,000-dwt kamsarmaxes to the Turkish shipowner for $114m, or $28.5m each, shipping sources familiar with China Minsheng said.
China Minsheng is said to be pocketing a total of $6m from reselling the wide-beam, shallow-draught newbuildings.
