China has announced plans to lower steel production, while Brazil has pledged to export more iron ore, but dry bulk shipping observers say they will believe it when they see it.
China's government has said that it will close its Tangshan steel mills temporarily or indefinitely to reduce air pollution, a move that could mean lower iron-ore imports.
Meanwhile, Brazil's iron-ore sector has repeatedly promised higher exports since a Vale mining dam disaster shut it down in early 2019.
