An ultra-large containership operated by AP Moller-Maersk has lost about 750 containers in the Pacific while heading from China to the US West Coast.
The incident involved the Danish-flagged, 13,092-teu Maersk Essen (built 2010).
Maersk confirmed the vessel was sailing from Xiamen in China to Los Angeles when it was hit by severe weather causing the loss of the containers on 16 January.
