Japanese and French naval forces have come to the aid of a seafarer injured aboard a chemical tanker in the Gulf of Oman.
He is reported to have injured his head aboard Seven Islands Shipping’s 12,761-dwt Lourdes (built 2002) early on 9 November.
A medic from the Japanese destroyer Ariake provided immediate assistance on board the tanker, before coordinating with the French warship Jeab Bart to arrange a medical evacuation by Panther helicopter.
