U-Ming Marine Transport has placed an order worth more than $250m for bulker newbuildings that will be chartered to mining giant Anglo American.
The Taiwanese bulker owner booked the 190,000-dwt newcastlemaxes at China's Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS).
The deal comes as shipbuilder Anglo American confirmed that U-Ming won a contest to provide the newbuildings to mining giant on 10-year contracts.
