Japan's NYK has completed a landmark first trial voyage using an autonomous navigation system.
Its 7,125-ceu car carrier Iris Leader (built 2015) sailed itself day and night between Japan and China using the Sherpa System for Real (SSR) kit.
It travelled between 14 and 17 September from Xinsha to Nagoya and then on to Yokohama from 19 to 20 September.
