A joint venture of power plant developer Invenergy and BW LNG is set to buy an LNG carrier that will be converted into a floating storage and regasification unit for a game-changing, $1bn LNG import project for El Salvador.
John Cooper, vice president of commercial transactions at project developer Invenergy, said the FSRU, which will serve as the import terminal for the Energia del Pacifico project, would be owned in a 50:50 joint venture between the companies.
