Italy's d’Amico International Shipping (DIS) is banking $25.7m from selling a modern MR tanker.
The company said it has signed a deal to offload the 46,000-dwt High Voyager (built 2014) on a sale and leaseback basis to a "reputable Japanese charterparty."
The transaction will generate $9.6m in cash and will pay off the ship's existing loan.
This contributes to the "liquidity required to complete DIS’ fleet renewal programme" and allows the owner to benefit from the anticipated market recovery, it said.
