Paolo d’Amico is confident of finding employment for the final LR1 newbuilding set for delivery to d’Amico International Shipping (DIS) in the third quarter of 2019.
The ship is the last in a series of six 75,000-dwt vessels contracted at Hyundai Vinashin Shipyard and is currently the only tanker in the DIS fleet to have a scrubber fitted.
d’Amico, who is backstopping a $50m equity raise for the shipowner, said demand is strong for the tanker which will arrive just ahead of the incoming fuel sulphur cap.
