Norwegian shipowner JL Mowinckels Rederi is taking an opportunistic investment view with an eye on potential tanker expansion.
The Bergen-based company has a fleet of three ships in the dry segment, plus one tanker.
Managing director Geir Belsnes has told TradeWinds he views the tanker segment as more attractive at the moment, given how much values have fallen.
Mowinckels’ only tanker is the Samsung Heavy Industries-built, 158,000-dwt Vinga (built 2012), which is owned on a 50:50 basis with Viken Shipping of Bergen.
