Euronav says that shareholders of Gener8 Maritime approved the merger between the two companies, with closing of the transaction expected 12 June.
Gener8, formerly led by Peter Georgiopoulos, will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Euronav.
Paddy Rodgers-led Euronav says 81% of the outstanding shares of Gener8 cast their vote, of which 98% approved the merger.
Post merger closing, Euronav will have an operating fleet of 74 crude tankers and two floating storage and offloading vessels.
